They have both lived in Meriden, Kansas for their whole lives. They started dating in high school and got married in 2002. At that time, they started raising quail, pheasant, and chukars as a hobby. Then decided after a few years to turn it into a business, and started Muddy Creek Game Birds. They started leasing some ground for hunters, built a lodge, and started raising a lot more birds. Katie and Andy have two daughters, Katelyn and Anna. The girls are beginning to start helping on the farm, picking up eggs, signing in hunters, and setting birds. There is always something for them to do.
